London Dreams | Food, Piccadilly & Regent Street

Dear lovelies,

My second visit to London in July this year was all about some great food (read: often junk food), eating and going around town! It was officially summers and so hot! Infact I got a bit of a tan on my face, hands and feet too which I really got bothered about later. Do you also enjoy watching photos of the past or coming seasons like myself? Imagining snow-clad mountains while the scorching sun is out in summers or looking at images of beautiful beaches during winters? Change in life is inevitable and we as human being always appreciate change in every aspect of life. While I was going through these photos of summers I thought why not share with everyone.

The FOOD..

Today's post is a photo journal of London which kicks off with (1.) my favorite photo taken on a beautiful night around London Eye and River Thames on the South Bank. I tried my best to keep my 'top knot' on the top but my hair were too soft for that. *smiles* Thanks to my photographer & choreographer. (2.) Look I found my name on a coke can, I also found my sister's name there! (3.) I kept thinking I would give this Red Velvet Cake from Caffe Nero a try but I forgot literally every time and tried something else instead. I tried their coffee so many times but I would still vote for Apostrophe for the best coffee in town. (4.) You want to know why I gained weight? There you go - Burger King 'Whoppers'. Loved every bite of these. I think I had more Whoppers than any other burger ever. And if you haven't tried their fries you have missed a lot in  life. (5.) A trip to Harrods in Knightsbridge and a stroll in their food halls was an amazing experience. Apart from all the very expensive brands of clothes, jewelry, homeware etc they had separate food halls for different food items like bakery, takeaway, coffee, chocolates, wine cellars. Everything I tried from the bakery was so fresh and bursting with taste. Moving from floor to floor you will find Egyptian escalators everywhere, its really beautiful. I can recall a group young men approaching us offering a cosmetics discount coupon that they received but wanted to give away as it was of no use to them - 'for the lady' - they said, so sweet!

More FOOD...

6.) In order to satisfy our desi taste buds we tried Masa, an Afghan restaurant at Goodge Street. Their Afghan Pulao and Kofta was delicious so was everything else we ordered. If you have a thing for Afghan cuisine you can easily relate the taste. Having fresh paatiri roti in London was an amazing experience too reminding you of home. (7.) I know I have been talking a lot about Burger King but if you want to taste one of the best burgers in London town MeatLiquor is the place to be. Sorry for the poor quality photos but who was thinking of taking photos, from the first bite to the last we didn't take a second's break until we finished everything on the platter, literally. My order: Henrietta Fizz + Dead Hippie Burger + Chili Cheese Fries equals heaven! I loved the ambiance, it was dark and loud. Next time you're around Welbeck Street get in that long, dispiriting queue and you wont regret it. (8.) Moving ahead, Chowmein from Chop Chop Noodle Bar around Shepherd's Bush and Westfield reminded me of my never ending love for Oriental cuisine. I had walk past Chop Chop a hundred times but it never occurred to me to check it out too until one day we had too as it was almost drizzling and very cold outside. I remember it was always crowded and couldn't make up what all the fuss was about. All I can say is the food was delicious, fresh and fulfilling.

PICCADILLY CIRCUS & REGENT STREET

(9.) I love going to Piccadilly, it's a famous London landmark and at the junctions of five very busy streets. I can never get tired of going around and about in the heart of London. I can and have spent hours and hours walking around the souvenir shops in the surrounding streets until my feet were dead tired. It's packed, brights and busy especially over the weekends. I just love the overall 'happy' atmosphere around this corner of London. (10.) Regent Street is a luxury, high-end shopping destination with hundreds of brands having their retail outlets there. I also heard that Regent Street offers 'hands-free shopping' where you can get your shopping bags delivered right to your doorsteps. You must check out the Christmas Lights 2013 which are themed around DreamWorks' new time-travelling comedy adventure Mr Peabody And Sherman. I think they look lovely and magical. Do you agree?
