The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter | Review

Hi Lovelies!

Sometimes some things are special to you because of your special moments and stories associated with them. You might love a particular fragrance because you wore it on your first date or a wedding band which is symbolic of your true love and dedication to your spouse. I’m a very lucky girl who owns a lot of special things that bring memories of good times. One of these is The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter – it reminds me of London. The sweet smell of Moringa Body Butter is embedded in my thoughts and memories of my time spent in London. It is one thing I used THE MOST while I was there.

The delicate white floral scent of Moringa Body Butter is so captivating and is the best thing about it. It is as pleasant as a mild, glamorous evening fragrance on cold winter nights. The fragrance is very lively, floral and long lasting, almost reminding you of a walk that you might have taken in a summer garden. When you think of florals most of the time the products you come across are either Rose or Jasmine based scents. If you are not a floral person you might not admire it as much though. However you will find the mild fragrance very different from others. There have been times when I opened the jar just to smell the lovely fragrance. I cannot get enough of Moringa Body Butter, I have re-purchased it and I will again once I’m out of this jar.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter Review

We all already know the amazing texture of The Body Shop Body Butter. This one is no less than amazing. I always prefer body butters in cold winter nights right after I take a long hot bath since my skin is super dry during winters. Moringa Body Butter will melt on my skin when I massage it and leaves my skin feeling not only hydrated but also smooth, super spoiled and pampered. This rich and super creamy body butter is a true feast for the skin especially in winters when your skin needs extra care. I love how the delicate smell stays for hours. I keep it handy all the time. I have transferred some of the product into an old The Body Shop Vitamin E jar and keep it in my handbag to use it as a hand cream all day long!

This amazing jar of body butter comes in a beautiful light yellow jar of 200ml with Moringa flowers imprinted on it. For some using up this huge tub would have been a big task – not for me the way my skin ‘drinks’ it. I more than love this range. Earlier I have been a big fan of Japanese Cherry Blossom and Midnight Bakula ranges but Moringa is so far my most favourite. If you have oily skin it’s definitely not for you. For someone with normal skin it can be used once in a while. However its ideal rich, buttery texture is great for dry skin like mine.

If you haven’t checked it out yet I strongly recommend you do so and get back to me. I would love to know your views.

The Body Shop | Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps

Hi Lovelies,

As you already know, I am obsessed with The Body Shop products especially their Skincare and Bath & Body. I am always looking forward to their new range of products. On a recent visit to one of The Body Shop stores around me I wanted to have a little look at their delicious range Chocomania!

The Body Shop' Chocomania range was launched around Valentines – perfect timings.  If you love chocolates you would love this range. Since I’m not a compulsive buyer (yep) I am very careful about what I need so I chose the Chocomania Mini Hearts Soaps. These are the most adorable things ever!  The moment I laid my eyes on them I couldn’t take them off. These came in a chocolate coloured packaging from the back and a transparent sheet on the front. Each pack had four of these cute little soap hearts. I also noticed a single heart shaped soap which was equally adorable and bigger in size. After giving it a thought I went for the packaging of four.

Why I bought The Body Shop' s Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps? Well first off I prefer soaps over face washes. I just feel my skin reciprocates better when I wash it with soap than with a liquid or cream face wash. Secondly, I needed a gentle exfoliating as well since the weather is changing now and the skin getting a little dry and rough. This looked like the perfect ones for me since these had little dark exfoliating beads in them. These mini soaps are part of my everyday skincare regime. I lather up, wash thoroughly and rinse. The results are amazing – clean, fresh and soft skin every time.

Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps contain real cocoa butter hence these are so soft on the skin. While I was shooting photos for the post I could actually feel the soap melting in my hands! It felt so buttery and smooth. The tiny black beads, almost like poppy seeds are actually coconut shell added to the soap for gentle exfoliating. I love it when the soap gets smaller and more and more of these beads appear while I lather up. Lastly, the fragrance is very mild. It is woody with a hint of cocoa butter which makes it an exotic combination. This makes these little heart soaps so luxurious! For me these are a definite re-purchase.

I think these are a perfect gift for Valentines and Mother’s Day. If you are a big time chocolate fanatic this is the range for YOU!

Which The Body Shop's range are you loving these days?

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask | Review

Hi Beauties,

Today I will review one of my most desired products in the recent past. I have been longing to try out an overnight mask since I had only read about it but never tried. This desire finally materialized when I purchased Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. During winter season my skin is totally the opposite as to summers. While in summers it is all oily and shiny, I can’t even call it combination skin; in winters except for my nose and chin it becomes dry, patchy and dehydrated especially around the laugh lines and cheeks. This adds a rough and dull texture to my skin as if moisture has been sucked away! Since the weather is getting colder and the breeze a bit harsh on my skin I thought I would start with the basics of my winter skin care regime – face scrub and overnight mask. While there are tons of overnight masks out there in the market, I opted for Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

This 100ml squeezy tube contains moisture boost wrapped in luxury. The packaging is green on the outside but the tube is nude pink and looks lovely. The texture is creamy neither too thick like a body butter nor thin like a moisturizer. This lightweight, non-greasy mask is oil-ree and is almost the same color as the packaging which is nude pink with just a hint of dewy fragrance. Even though I have only applied it only a few times just to give my skin an instant boost, it gave me really good results. I am still keeping it for the upcoming cold weather and it is only then I would take this to a strict test to know for sure if it can handle my withered winter skin. As far as the application is concerned the creamy texture makes it smooth and so easy to apply. After removing my makeup and cleansing before going to bed I applied the mask all over my face evenly and massaged. By this time I thought to myself, ‘how would I sleep with a mask on my skin’? ‘Would it all come off on my bed sheet’? Worry not, after you apply this mask, watch it slowly ‘sink’ into your skin until it’s completely absorbed! Slip into your bed and dream of soft, dewy, glowing skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

Here’s how Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask works. This luxurious nighttime ritual deeply hydrates the skin and ensures a protective moisture barrier. So while you are dreaming at night the creamy, penetrating mask helps skin “drink in” all that is required to help replenish lost moisture and build reserve for the next day. If you are someone like me who not only suffers from skin misbehavior but also a lot of stress due to your work routine, Aloe and other plant extracts added to this mask will help calm the stresses of the day. Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask helps nourish the lipids that naturally hold in skin moisture. So as I wake up in the morning my skin felt FRESH and looked definitely plump, supple and luminous as it promises! It felt moist with no dry patches. My foundation felt gliding over my moisture-injected skin which NO dry patches.
Like me - do you HATE it when even after applying a moisturizer your skin shows up a few dry patches once you apply the foundation? Happens to me all the time in winters! Hence, the satisfaction is immense.

However, the best part is that Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask did not give me breakouts which I mentally prepared myself for but really hoped it doesn’t happen. Though my skin is combination-to-dry during winters it can still give me acne here and there. Reason being that no matter how dry or stressed your skin is, a deep moisturizer will help your skin moisten but might end up in acne. So the next time you pick up a deep moisturizer during those cold days think twice! While this Overnight Mask is oil free and works great on combination and dry skin however in my personal opinion I would not recommend it for anyone with oily skin as it might give you acne. Also, it might not give you results in summers and during daytime. So keep it for the winter nights.

This mask is equally good if you are looking for anti-aging skin care. Now I am also assuming it would work great for sensitive skin but please make sure beforehand. I plan to apply it at least twice a week for better results but might make it more often as needed. As for now I can safely say I got what I desired from Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask – moisture filled plumper, brighter skin.
