It took me ages to get in terms with the fact that "everyone MUST wear sunscreen" to protect themselves from sun damage. I was told by my dermatologist that nothing can make my skin appear better if I do not combine it with a sun block. It is an absolute must for you if you really care about how your skin appears. UVB rays penetrate the outer layer of skin and cause damage to skin cells as well as sunburns whereas UVA rays contribute to premature signs of ageing including fine lines and wrinkles. Once I absolutely realized that I started my search for sun blocks.
Admit that you hate sunblock! Don't you? So do I. The sticky-oily texture along with a ghost-white effect on the face makes it a terrible thing. The search for a perfect sunscreen is ( I thought) impossible until I came across Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. Neutrogena is one of my most trusted brands. When I saw this over the counter I thought it was worth a try. Even though my previous sunscreen was recommended by my dermatologist I did not feel like repurchasing it. Instead I wanted to try something new and better. Hence, I did the needful that too in SPF 100+ :)
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is part of the Ultra Sheer range by Neutrogena. Powerful, Water Resistant & Ultra Light is how this range describes itself. Too good to be true until off course you actually try it out. It comes in an ombre blue and white tube packaging with a sturdy light blue cap. I always appreciate tube packaging more than jar packaging for hygienic reasons. Plus this also gives you more control on how much product you need for application. The cream is white in color and the texture definitely looks and feels light. It's infused with a soft, fresh scent.
I apply it evenly all over my face and to be very honest for my skin type (combination) it works like a moisturizer. The application goes on easily and absorbs effortlessly. Before I apply my foundation I give it a minute or two to let it settle in my skin which makes it almost invisible on the skin. Once I'm done with foundation and a bit of powder (is that okay?) trust me I don't feel for a minute that I'm wearing sunscreen. I personally think that is the best thing Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen does. Its non-shiny finish is a result of Dry-Touch Technology which is an oil free formula. It leaves a non greasy, matte finish so that your skin is shine free. What else can you wish for?
The reason I chose SPF 100+ (Sun Protection Factor) is because this is what has been recommended to me but you can also go for lower SPFs. It is important to select a broad spectrum UVB/UVB protection since both harm your skin. For my skin SPF 100+ offers the highest combined UVB/UVB protection and proven to protect skin from over 99% of sunburn damage. It makes sense since summers in my part of the world is unbelievably hot and bright! And no matter how hard you try you cannot avoid the sun at all times. Another facts that makes Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen one of the best sunscreens out there is its non-whitening and water-resistant qualities. All of you who regularly wear sunscreen are familiar with the ghost-effect that sunscreens give to your face. Thankfully this is not the case with Dry-Touch Technology. Furthermore, a lot of Neutrogena suncare products come with Helioplex - a breadth of stabilized sunscreen technologies that deliver superior protection from the sun. All these factors make this product a must-have for ultimate sun protection.
Here you go. I no longer have an excuse of not wearing a sunscreen. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is an essential part of my everyday skincare regime. If you happen to come across this product I strongly recommend that you give it a try and see the results for yourself.
Which is you favorite sunscreen at the moment and why?
It's so awesome when you find a product that works perfectly for you. I havn't tried out this one yet but I've been using a similar one from Aveeno and it's doing pretty well for me so far. Lovely, in-depth review :)
