Bonjour lovely ladies!
In my previous posts I have been mentioning a lot about how I have been repeatedly asked by my skin specialist to strictly wear sunblock to avoid skin damage. But sunblocks were something I never used for more than two days in a row! I hate the way their texture is. I hate the way they make my skin look so oily and shiny. But ultimately I had to give in. I started wearing sunblock in the mornings before applying my makeup but then a new problem arose. My makeup just wouldn’t stick in place over the layer of sunblock. Did I mention I never used foundation before? Yes – I never wore foundation other than on formal occasions. But this time I really wanted to strictly follow the sunblock routine. I knew how sun rays can damage your skin and how essential it is for everyone to keep their skins protected. I wanted to continue wearing sunblock but what about my makeup?
This led me to L’Oreal True Match Foundation – I picked C1 Rose Ivory for my pale, yellow undertone skin. I needed something over the layer of sunblock to get rid of that oily look and also hold my makeup together in a really nice way without over doing it. Remember I work 9-6 at a corporate headquarters and can’t really afford that cake-look. It had to be something light and L’Oreal True Match Foundation does this so beautifully. Should I mention I’m a regular sunblock user now and never leave home without it even on cloudy days? Yay!

I love the consistency of this foundation and the coverage is light to medium which works perfect for me. I do not want something which is too light and sheer. On the other hand I do not need full coverage. Since I have never been a huge fan of foundations in the past L’Oreal True Match Foundation is a jackpot! Consider this: it is a top drugstore brand with good quality, affordable price tags and great finish. To top it off its oil free and did not give me any breakouts whatsoever yet did not leave dry skin patches either. It blends in so well and wouldn’t take ages to set on your skin. The finish is a nice matte but it does give my skin a slight glow on the cheeks. But to be honest the best part is that it stays good the entire day. That is from 8:00 am till late in the evening. Later in the day my skin does get a little shiny but that is fixed by a bit of loose powder over the area which need a bit of patting. The pump dispense gives you a lot of control. I usually use just one pump for the entire face and neck. The coverage however is buildable. If you feel you need a bit more use 2 pumps one after another.
L'Oreal True Match Foundation gives you a flawless coverage. It’s super-blendable and matches your skin tone and texture. I like the fact that even tough with light to medium coverage it will manage to hide your skin imperfections and make it look flawless. I have purchased L'Oreal True Match Foundation twice now. And I’m hoping to repurchase it in the future as well. Until I buy some high-end premium brands like Chanel in the near future Im sure I’ll stick to L'Oreal True Match Foundation.
I haven't tried this foundation, but just picked up the Revlon Color Stay Whipped in natural tan. Since coming back from vacation, my face is a bit tan and all my foundations are too light.

DeleteThis sounds lovely. I've never been a drug-store foundation type of girl but I should definitely try this out :) Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome. :)
DeleteThis one seems nice! I used to like L'Oréal's foundations, wore them a lot years ago but this one doesn't have any sunscreen in it so I'll pass. I almost never wear sunscreen, I just can't be bothered and have always been careful about sun exposure. Usually the ss in foundations is enough for the type of accidental exposure I can get so it has to be included in the formuls for me. Still the texture appears super nice.
ReplyDeleteYes I totally understand. If you do not 'feel' it too much you wont think about sunscreens. Unfortunately I get freckles if I do not wear sunscreen.
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried it but sounds interesting!

Hi Sarah! I had been in the search for the right sunblock for years. I hated em all. Like you, I hated the greasball shiny skin it gave me yuck! Please go buy spectraBAN sunblock from Shaheen chemist super market. The pharmacy section, not the upstairs cosmetics one. It's a god send. You only need to apply the tiniest amount and I'm shine free the entire day. It's light as air and works wonderfully as a foundation primer. I have it in SPF 40 it's my holy grail now. It says for oily/combo skin, praban free, water resistant perfume free
ReplyDeleteI realise I sound like I'm endorsing it but trust me, it's a lifesaver. Costs around 2000 rupees but a little goes a long way:)
Seriously?
DeleteI'm using one that I got from Pharmacy in F8. It does make my skin shiny in the evenings hence the foundation. I'll definitely check it out & 'purchase'. Seems like you know exactly how I feel about sunblocks, never knew they had something for oily/combo skin too!
Thanks you so much for sharing the info!! HUGS!
i love your blog (and layout!) x
