"Christmas Is My Fav Time Of The Year!"
Hi everyone,
I've been so busy this week! It has been exhausting work-wise. And I rarely got time to work on my Christmas Décor list let alone new posts & tweets! But not to worry - its weekend! *yay*
Christmas is magical!
Christmas is my favorite time of the year - I have no doubts about that! The decorations & lights, Christmas carols, festivity, shopping, food, get-together with friends & dear ones & not to forget snowfall & Santa! As a kid I had great fascination with Christmas. Christmas meant something special - a big day, like a wedding or graduation or even your promotion. J I love the way families gather at our house as one, around huge bonfire in the front yard enjoying BBQ & light conversation. The really cold, winter nights add that extra enchanting atmosphere.
Of all things that come under the definition of Christmas decorations: Christmas tree & ornaments, Christmas lights, tinsels, ribbons for bows, fresh fresh poinsettias, pine cones, scented candles, stockings & so on - my favorite, however has always been those tiny, colorful, Christmas lights (off course after the Christmas tree which is still my favorite no 1 :). These remind me of TinkerBell. Remember Tink? The little fairy from Peter Pan of Neverland who spoke fairy language? Every time I saw these lights twinkling & fading & reappearing on a Christmas tree I felt as if the Christmas tree is wrapped with fairies, as if they lived inside it & had tiny homes & families - so dreamlike.
The best Christmas lights we had were the ones that my late Aunt brought as a gift. These were beautiful, multicolored lights in the shape of little flowers with green sepals! They always went on our Christmas tree & looked so beautiful. Now, we have a modern fiber optic Christmas tree, haha, which is really sparkly with vivid colors & continuous changing patterns & effects. It doesn't require those fairy-lights I always liked. But my fascination for those tiny bulbs is still warm & alive inside me.
We just had our first rain of the season - Nature's way of official declaring the arrival of Winters. Something inside me instantly reminded me of my childhood fascination. I said to myself, ‘I must get Christmas lights this season!’ So, here I am sharing a few pictures of these little fairies I got yesterday, my favorite since childhood. Checkout the lovely 'bokeh' effect my camera created.
